Repairs were completed Tuesday morning on the broken sewage pipes that created a sinkhole on Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres.
According to workers, they repaired pipes that had broken that were nearly 50 years old and were heavily eroded. The work was expected to be completed monday evening but the damage was worse than expected. After attaching new piping, the old pipes made of concrete and asbestos began to crumble, which set them back.
