Infant Ejected From Vehicle in Lehigh Acres Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that an infant was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition after being ejected from a vehicle during a car crash late Friday night.

 The accident happened at the corner of Lee Boulevard and Joan Avenue North in Lehigh.

 The baby reportedly was not secured in a safety seat at the time of the accident.

 The mother was given citations for careless driving and failure to use a child safety restraint.
