All four of the new designs feature an orange and the state's nickname as well as seven characters in a new font that increase the plate's readability. The new plates also remove the orange and outline of the state from the center.
There are no changes anticipated for the more than one hundred specialty tags currently issued by the state.
Once the new tag design is chosen, registered drivers will get a new plate at their next scheduled renewal.
