THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY GARBAGE, RECYCLING, AND YARD WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE CHANGE

All unincorporated areas of Lee County as well as the City of Bonita Springs, and the Town of Fort Myers Beach will have no garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection on the Thanksgiving holiday, November 22, 2012.

The Thursday collection is moved to Friday; likewise, if Friday is your normal garbage collection day,
then the pick-up is performed on Saturday.

This schedule is only in effect for November 22 through November 24, 2012. Regular scheduled
collection will resume on Monday, November 26, 2012.

Please note that County offices are closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 23, 2012.
The Lee County Household Chemical Waste Drop Off Facility on Topaz Court in Fort Myers will be
closed to residents from November 22 through November 25. Regular operations at the HCW Topaz
Court facility will resume on Monday, November 26.

For the holidays we tend to cook more and often use disposable aluminum cooking and baking pans
a.k.a. foil pans in the preparation of our dishes. Please remember that these pans are recyclable and
are a valuable resource for the production of new aluminum products. Aluminum pans and cans are
practically 100 percent recyclable, and the aluminum does not degrade as it is recycled -- it can be
reworked into infinity without losing quality. Make sure to please wash the dish in soapy water prior
to placing it in the recycling container.
