LEHIGH ACRES FIRE CHIEF ADAMS TO RETIRE NOVEMBER 2ND. NO REPLACEMENT SET

Lehigh Acres Fire Chief Don Adams officially announced his resignation Friday at a special meeting held at the 16th Street fire station. Adams requested an early retirement date of November 2nd instead of the two months typically required.

Commissioners unanimously accepted his resignation and assigned Assistant fire Chief Ken Bennet to temporarily take over of the administrative aspects of his position during that time. The commissioners also decided to wait and choose a new chief following the November elections where 4 seats will be chosen by voters.
